Using this website

Welcome to the Gloucester Nepalese Community (“GNC”, “we”, “us”) website. By using it, buying a ticket, submitting a photo, or leaving a comment you agree to these Terms. They exist to keep the site safe and useful for everyone in the community.

Who we are

GNC is a not-for-profit community organisation based in Gloucester, United Kingdom. The website is operated by the GNC committee. Contact: gloucesternepalesecommunity@outlook.com.

Acceptable use

Please don’t:

• Post abusive, hateful, obscene, or illegal content
• Impersonate someone else
• Attempt to hack, overload, or probe the site
• Scrape content for commercial redistribution
• Use the contact form or comments for spam or unsolicited marketing

We may remove any content and block any account that breaks these rules, without notice.

Tickets and payments

• Tickets are sold through Stripe. Prices are shown in £ (GBP) and include a small booking fee where applicable.
• Tickets are name-locked. You’ll be asked for the attendee’s name at checkout, and the door team may check ID against the ticket. Transfer to someone else is allowed via the ticket page — update the name before the event.
• An order is confirmed only after Stripe reports the payment as paid and you receive a confirmation email with QR codes.
• Refunds: if the event is cancelled by GNC you receive a full refund automatically. If you can’t attend, email us at least 48 hours before the event and we’ll do our best — booking fees may be non-refundable.
• Discount codes are single-use unless stated otherwise, apply only to eligible events, and can’t be combined with other codes.
• Ticket capacity is enforced at the door. In the rare event of overbooking, we’ll issue a full refund on the spot.

Photos and user submissions

When you submit a photo to the gallery, leave a comment, or reply on any form, you confirm that:

• The content is yours to share (or you have permission)
• Everyone identifiable in a photo — or their parent/guardian for children — is happy for it to appear on this site
• You grant GNC a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on our website and in event archives

You can ask us to remove any of your content at any time — just contact us.

Intellectual property

The site design, code, text, and GNC logo are © Gloucester Nepalese Community. Photos remain the copyright of their submitters. Event names, iconography, and cultural symbols belong to the wider heritage they represent.

You may share links to any page and quote short passages with attribution. Please ask before reusing whole articles or photo galleries.

Third-party services

To run the site we rely on: Supabase (database + auth), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and Google Wallet (optional pass saving). Each has its own terms — details in our Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

We try to keep the site up 24/7 but can’t guarantee it — occasional maintenance or third-party outages happen. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. Where a change materially affects existing purchases we’ll reach out by email.

Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the site or a ticket is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. Nothing here removes your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms — the “last updated” date above will change and, for material updates, we’ll highlight them on the home page for a week. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new Terms.
